When invited to a Serbian home, a bouquet or wine is usually a suitable gift. Traditional Serbian etiquette calls for an odd number of flowers in a floral gift. Guests at Serbian weddings traditionally wore a sprig of rosemary; today a flower on the lapel or a bracelet is also often used.
On Saint George's Day, 6 May, wreaths are woven from flowers and medicinal herbs in Serbia and hung above the front door of the house.
On Lazarus Saturday, before Palm Sunday, young willow twigs are taken to church. Children receive little bells and wreaths on this occasion.
