Veselí nad Moravou lies on the River Morava. The town is 16 km south-west of Uherské Hradiště and 25 km north-east of Hodonín. A separate section of the Baťa Canal branches off from the main course of the Morava here.
The chateau stands on the site of a former moated castle. It is surrounded by an English landscape park covering around 20 hectares. The Baroque Church of St Bartholomew dates from 1733–1741.
