Úpice lies on the Úpa River. The town is in the foothills of the Krkonoše Mountains. It consists of two parts, Úpice and Radeč.
The Church of St James the Greater stands in Úpice. It is in the town square. The Municipal Museum and Gallery of Julie W. Mezerová is housed in the old town hall.
