Flower delivery in Sokolov

Sokolov lies at the confluence of the Ohře and Svatava rivers, in the centre of the Sokolov Basin. It is about 18 km west of Karlovy Vary. Lignite mining and the associated industry shape the character of the town.

The first written record dates from 13 April 1279; until 1948, the town was called Falknov nad Ohří. The château in the centre dates from 1663 and stands on the ruins of an earlier château destroyed by fire. It has housed the regional museum since 2003.
