Flower delivery in Náchod
Náchod lies in north-eastern Bohemia by the River Metuje. A border crossing is nearby on the Prague–Warsaw route. In the early 20th century, the town was a centre of the cotton industry in Austria-Hungary.
The town was founded in the mid-13th century, and its first written record dates from 1254. The local castle was converted into a Renaissance château between 1566 and 1614. The château complex comprises five interconnected courtyards and is surrounded by a park. The square is home to the Baroque old town hall and the Church of St Lawrence, rebuilt after the town fire of 1663.
