Brumov-Bylnice lies in the valley of the Brumovka stream in the White Carpathians, south of Valašské Klobouky in the Zlín District. The town was formed on 1 July 1964 by the merger of the municipalities of Brumov and Bylnice.
The ruins of Brumov Castle stand on a spur of the hills above the town. The castle was founded in the first half of the 13th century. The Brumov-Bylnice Cultural House on Družba Street has a large stage and a hall for theatre performances and balls.
